Saying I ever waited for anything for almost ten years seems impossible but looking back now I remember, I did, for Final Fantasy XV. The development cycle of Final Fantasy XV began in 2006, when it was a PlayStation 3-exclusive spin-off titled Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which lasted approximately ten years. FFXV being an open world action role-playing video game, developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One home consoles, did a great number on its fans and first-timers. It is the fifteenth installment of the main series. The game features an open-world environment and action-based battle system similar to the Kingdom Hearts series and Final Fantasy Type-0 including some other additional abilities such as switching weapons, camping and much more.
Final Fantasy XV is great component of its series and a great game-adventure for gamers to go through. It has its pros and cons as similar to any other games, refreshing yet annoying at some phases. We hold the strings of our protagonist Noctis Lucis Caelum. Our journey starts with his journey across the world of Eos accompanied by his friends and more-or-less bodygaurds, namely Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto. They each serve different purposes and have unique abilities. Noctis is accompanied on his journey by three others: Gladiolus Amicitia, Noctis’s bodyguard; Ignis Scientia, a prodigy military tactician and Noctis’s advisor; and Prompto Argentum, a friend of Noctis from a lower social class. The four of them are on a journey to Accordo’s capital city of Altissia, to meet Noctis’s fiancee and oracle, Lunafreya Nox Flueret also, the former princess of Tenebrae. They have to halt their journey because of the car breakdown and starts completing the missions. The story slowly starts changing as conspiracy stabbed them in their backs. They receive the news of the betrayal and theft of the crystal along with the death report of king regis, lunafreya and noctis himself. They meet up with Crownsguard commander Cor Leonis, who tasks Noctis with retrieving the weapons of the Lucii—the ancient kings of Lucis—in order to rescue the Crystal and reclaim his throne.
Noctis features warp strike ability which, is a trump card for their battles but still have its limitations. The battles are intresting and your comrades help you at their fullest. Road trips are often irritatingly slow and boring. Transportation sucks big time until you have the access to chocobos. Together with your crew, you’ll tackle larger tale missions, which run the gamut from stealthy infiltration runs into the coronary heart of an Imperial garrison, to dungeon crawls, to marvelous fights in opposition to gods and monsters alike. Battles are mostly about hacking through opponents body. Dungeons frequently include no checkpoints or save points, however then function a hard boss proper fight on the quit with the capability to send you lower back to square one, all progress gone and enjoy reset. Loading times are also irksomely and painfully long.
Magic is mind-tricking element, a bit confusing but helpful and with the course of time enjoyable too. Magic in Final Fantasy XV means spells, elements, poison, grenades, antidotes, elixirs and much more. You toy around with elements with different proportions and results for different spells and whatnot. Summoning of gods and titans also happens to be a catching phase of the game. They help in our battles and with the story forth.
The four young men’s relationship depicts brotherhood. A relationship so beautiful that brings you to your tears, bawling your eyes out. FFXV itself is a emotional rollercoaster that throws many emotions towards your way, sometimes joy, love, hurt, anger, remorse and all seems fitting throughout the game. The game is mesmerizing and beautiful, characters to backgrounds, relationships to battles, everything consists of extreme beauty.
Back to plot, Lunafreya dies while awakening Astral Leviathan so Noctis can obtain her power, only for Leviathan to go on a rampage. He is visited in a dream by Lunafreya’s spirit, who gives him the Ring of the Lucii. While in Tenebrae, Noctis learns that Lunafreya was dying due to her contact with the Astrals, resulting in him not accepting his powers and responsiblities for a while.
Overcoming the inner conflict, he finally reaches crystal sepreated by his team members. Noctis is isolated for ten years for his destiny and dont know what. On his return, he destroys Ardyn and ascends the throne and sacrifices his life in the process. In post-credits, Noctis and Luna reconciles ending the story there and then.
The End seems beautiful and left me awestruck. The FFXV poster also changes with Noctis on his throne and lunafreya by his side.
Finally, I would say, surely its was fictious but an enchanting fiction. Worth all the trouble, wait and money.
